Approach and Methodology
A Medical Assistance platform will be ready up from start of EMISPHER project.
250 user sites will be selected to participate within this
network by IMA (with active support of University
of Cyprius out of its existing works.
Within the EMISPHER project we are focusing on the
services necessary to allow efficient cooperation of the regional
healthcare structures with external actors, and in specific
the Assistance companies.
The main objective is to provide professionals involved in
medical care, to remote rural populations, and travellers
with a set of services to improve continuity of care at
regional, national, and international levels, through
the efficients cooperation of the regional healthcare structures
with the Assistance companies. It is critical that all involved actors should obtain and exchange objectives medical data consulting an accurate and reliable image of a patien medical status and history.
The challenge faced by the EMISPHER project is to demonstrate that efficient and cost-effetcive cooperation facilities will enable the medical assistance community to make profit of the recent developments in networking.
In achieving the expressed objective the project will :
• Install a dedicated Java client software
on each recruited site and perfomr on-site training of the
users,
• Where necessary and possible - estimation is
1 centre out af 10 - interconnect that software to the local
information system avoid double data entry,
• Operate the platform for the duration of the
project and, organize and improve on-line training methodologies,
• Organize users feedback and establish a set
of recommendations to adapt the proposed standardised medical
assistance procedures; asses the usage of satellite capacity
for the transmission of medical imagery components.
